Uniting to End Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in Somalia: GADO Organization’s Commitment to Change
Our team in Mogadishu is dedicated to raising awareness about the harmful effects of genderbased violence (GBV) and female genital mutilation (FGM). Through ongoing discussions, they have unanimously committed to never subject their future children to FGM, recognizing the severe physical and emotional harm it causes. Together, we can unite to end GBV and FGM in our community, creating a safer and more inclusive society for all.
In addition to awareness-raising, our team is actively engaging with local communities, religious leaders, and policymakers to advocate for stronger laws and protections against GBV and FGM. We are offering crucial support and resources to survivors, helping them heal and rebuild their lives. Through education and open community dialogues, we seek to challenge the cultural norms that sustain these harmful practices and empower individuals to make informed decisions that prioritize the health, dignity, and rights of women and girls.
